Neuberger Berman takes minority stake in $245bn Mariner Wealth Advisors

Asset manager Neuberger Berman has agreed to make a minority investment in mega-RIA Mariner Wealth Advisors, which oversees $245bn in client assets.
Mariner’s existing minority private equity investor, Leonard Green & Partners, will retain all of its investment in the Overland Park, Kan.-based wealth manager. Leonard Green first invested in Mariner in the summer of 2021.
Marty Bicknell (pictured) will remain Mariner’s chief executive. A spokeswoman for Mariner said Bicknell is retaining a majority stake in the company.
Specific financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
